It Was A Dark And Stormy Vision Statement

My parish vision statement reads like an entry for the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest:

"We are the presence of Christ
Calling those who hunger and thirst for God
One in heart and mind
We are sent to transform the world."

This has inspired me to start a "Bulwer-Lytton Parish Vision Statement Contest" tonight. It runs for two weeks. Entries must be actual and factual - a link to the parish bulletin is optional. It doesn't have to be your own parish. You don't even have to mention the parish (though that helps). This is all in good clean fun, much like the Crummy Church Sign blog (if you've never been there, go check it out. It is truly one of the funniest blog sites I've ever come across!).

I haven't determined a prize for the winner yet. It'll probably be something worthless and trivial, perhaps something that can be posted on your blog.

Be like a Chicago Democrat! Submit early, and submit often!!

**UPDATE** - For all you creative types out there, have a go at coming up with a Parish Vision Statement of your own. Did you notice from mine that you can't tell IT'S ABOUT A CATHOLIC PARISH?!?!?!
