Another Blog Contest!

There's action aplenty over at the Crescat during the 2009 Cannonball Awards, as races are close in several categories. And the Catholic New Media Awards are accepting nominations as well. There's even a third competition underway, one specifically for Eastern Christian Rite blogs.

So it's only right that the Progressive Catholic Blogs have their own "Best Of" contest.

Introducing the 2009 Pickin'-n-Choosin' Progressive Catholic Blog Competition. Or the PC² Blog Competition, for short. Nominations are now being accepted for the following categories:

* Best Blog by an Ex-Religious

* Best Blog by an Ex-Religious Married to Another Ex-Religious

* Best Catholic Politically Correct Blog

* More Catholic Than Kmiec Blog

* Best Gender Non-Specific Blog

* Best Blog by an Ex-communicated Catholic

* Best Blog by a Jesuit Wearing a Necktie

* Most Visceral Treat

* Best Spirit of Vatican II

* Best We Are Church Blog

* Most Wholly Screed of the Holy See Blog

* Most Herfreakinetical Blog

* Best Sour Patch Kids Blog

* Best "It's Spelled Catholic but Pronounced New Age Paganism" Blog

Submit your nominations before 8:22 AM EST May 12, 2009. Voting will occur between 10:15 AM and 10:53 AM on May 13, 2009. There will be no winners or losers - to declare a winner would be unfair to the other nominees, and we don't want anyone's feelings getting hurt. Each blog that's nominated can proudly post the following badge at their blog:

s/s to the Crescat, from whose list I unashamedly borrowed.

Larry,

Well done. Man, this one is getting emailed to a few people.

The only additional category I could see would be Best St. Louis Jesuit Music Aficionado Blog.

Excellent idea, and the trophy is just perfect for the contest! But there's a typo in it (cafeteria).

Emilio - well, that just goes to show how lousy of an award it really is!

The Big Doofus may not win the Cannonball award, but if he could get Joe to co-write the blog, they could get the "Best Blog by an Ex-communicated Catholic" award.

I nominate Ray Grosswirth's blog for a number of those.
