Various And Sundry Sunday

Interesting - the priest who kicked off the "What If We Just Said 'Wait'?" campaign in 2009, which was a protest against the New Missal's implementation occurring later this year, has decided to drop the subject (I blogged about WIWJSW? here). Fr. Z gives the story his customary black and red treatment.

Pray for the Copts in Egypt - a mob of 4,000 Muslims attacked Christian homes and burned the Church of St. Mina and St. George in a town outside Cairo. The priest and deacon's whereabouts are unknown.

It's one thing when a priest or bishop warns that a "tyrannous new...liberal morality" will oppress Christians - it's not all that unexpected. But when it's a gay atheist saying it...and he's worried about it, for the good of everyone... it's somewhat surprising.

Hmmm...I wonder how long this will stand: the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that "schools cannot "stifle criticism of homosexuality". This one is worth keeping an eye on, I think.

This was neat - a look in on a typical day for Pope Benedict.

When the zombie apocalypse comes, even the ants won't be safe.

So some nuns have asked McDonald's: "What are you doing about overweight kids? The obvious answer is "Feeding them!", but these nuns want Mickey Dee's to do the job the kids' own parents refuse to. Yep - another group of nuns involved in Corporate-Social Responsibility, which is fine I guess - it's just too bad these nuns are more concerned about waistlines than souls. Not much on their website indicates they're into the Catholic faith much.

Last week's time-suck was the Geography game - this week it's Hippopotamus. I made it through all 12 levels, finishing with 691 points.

And finally...the sad saga of the invisible bike. (warning: this image is ok, but the site is kinda-sorta NSFW if you go exploring)

p.s. Lent's coming!
